Turn on replay
Open [Settings] → [Preferences] and switch on the [Paragraph audio replay] toggle. This feature is currently in Beta.Play a paragraph
- Web and desktop app: Hover over a paragraph in the note body or transcript, and a toolbar appears. Click the headphone-shaped [Play audio] button. A player opens below the paragraph.
- Mobile app: Tap a paragraph’s timestamp to open the player for that segment. The play indicator only shows on paragraphs that have audio.
Good to know
- It does not apply retroactively. Replay works for paragraphs recorded after you turn the toggle on. Paragraphs in notes created before that have no saved audio, so they can’t be played.
- For audio file upload and offline recording, the toggle has to be on at the moment of conversion for the original audio to be kept. Convert with it off, and the original audio is discarded after conversion.
- On web and desktop, the play button only shows when the toggle is on.
Frequently asked questions
Why can’t I replay notes I made earlier?
Replay applies to recordings made after you turn the toggle on. Notes created before then have no saved audio, so they can’t be played.Where is the saved audio stored?
It’s stored encrypted on Tiro’s servers, so you can play it back whenever you open the note from any device. If you’d rather keep the audio only on your own computer instead of uploading it, see Local audio storage. The toggle is disabled in my settings.
