Two kinds of word memory
- Personal word memory: Applies to every note you create. It follows you no matter which workspace you record in, and other members can’t see it. Manage it under [Settings] → [Profile] → [Word memory].
- Workspace word memory: Applies to the notes of every member in the same workspace. It’s managed per workspace, and any member can add, edit, or delete words. Manage it under [Settings] → [Workspace] → [Workspace Word Memory].
How to add words
Personal and workspace word memory work the same way.Type words directly
Enter a word in the [Add new word] field at the top. Separate words with commas to add several at once.
Extract from a file in bulk
Click [Upload File] to pull key words from documents, images, audio, or video all at once. You can upload up to 5 files at a time, 20MB per file, and Tiro extracts up to 100 words per file. Pick the words you want from the extracted list and add them.
Choose the tab that fits the word
- [Regular Words] tab: Register words spelled the way they sound. Good for English proper nouns, people’s names, company names, and product names. (For example: Tiro, ChatGPT.)
- [Phonetic + Notation] tab: Register words like Japanese or Chinese where the sound you hear differs from the characters you write. (For example: pronunciation ひらがな / notation 漢字, pronunciation pinyin / notation 汉字.)
Frequently asked questions
Which words give the best results?
The harder a word is for Tiro to catch the first time, the more it helps. Register proper nouns that aren’t in a general dictionary, such as company, product, and service names, coworker names, and industry acronyms. Can other members see my personal word memory?
No. Only you can see your personal word memory, and it doesn’t affect other members’ notes. For words your team shares, register them in the workspace word memory.Who manages the workspace word memory?
Any workspace member can add, edit, or delete words. No separate admin permission is required. How is this different from context?
Word memory is a proper-noun dictionary that applies to every note all the time, while context is a situational note that applies to one conversation only. Put words that come up every time in word memory, and information specific to this conversation in context.Related pages: Context · Speaker Diarization · Workspace
