Start sharing a note

Click the [Share] button at the top right of the note screen to open the share menu. Link sharing and invites work even while recording is in progress. File exports and integrations become available once recording ends.
Share a note with your teammates before you start recording, and they can follow along with what gets captured in real time.
Click [Copy Link] to copy a share link you can send to anyone. Whoever receives the link can open the note right away, without a Tiro account or signing in. Choose who can see the note in the link settings.
  • [Anyone with link]: anyone who has the link can view the note.
  • [Password protected]: only people who know the password can view it. The password is generated automatically, and the [Copy Link & Password] button sends the link and password together.
  • [Link disabled]: turn link sharing off, and the existing link no longer works.
You also choose what to share. Pick only what you want to show from the Note, Transcript, and any documents you generated. In the mobile app, the [Link] section of the share menu handles sending, copying, and settings, and the [Generate Password] switch turns on protection.

Share only within your company

You can limit the link’s visibility to [People at my company] or [Only invited people]. On the Enterprise plan, an admin sets a workspace-wide cap on share scope and link expiry, and can revoke active links from one place. For the full behavior, see Link sharing security.

Invite people to work together

If you want to give specific people permission instead of sharing a link, invite them from the [Permission Settings] menu. Search by name or email, and your registered participants show up right away. For anyone not registered, type their full email to add them. What an invited person can do depends on their role.
RoleWhat they can do
ViewerRead the note and ask questions with Ask Tiro
EditorEdit the content and note details, and share with others
OwnerHas every permission, including deleting and recording (the person who created the note)

Good to know when sharing

  • The recipient sees only what you selected at the moment of sharing. If you share without the transcript, they cannot see the transcript.
  • Workspace policy can restrict link sharing. If you see “Link sharing is not allowed for this team,” contact your workspace admin. To learn how policy limits the share scope, see Link sharing security.
  • To share several notes at once by folder, use a team folder in Folders.

Frequently asked questions

No. Anyone with the link can open the note without signing in. For a password-protected link, they just enter the password.

Can I set the password myself?

The password is generated automatically as a secure value. You can view and copy it in the link settings, and the [Copy Link & Password] button makes it easy to send both together.

Can I share while recording?

Yes. Link sharing and invites work during recording, and recipients can watch what gets captured in real time. PDF, Word, and email exports and sending to collaboration tools turn on once recording ends.

I want to stop sharing.

Choose [Link disabled] in the link settings, and the existing link no longer works. To remove someone you invited, take them out in the permission settings.
